The signs of the zodiac
The twelve signs of the zodiac from Aries to Pisces: character, strengths and the special quality of each sign.
The zodiac divides the ecliptic—the apparent path of the Sun across the sky—into twelve equal sections, each spanning 30 degrees. Each zodiac sign describes a specific way in which energy is expressed. When a planet is in a particular sign, that sign “colors” the planet’s quality.
The sequence of the signs tells a story of development: from the pure impulse of Aries, through deepening and maturation in the middle signs, to the dissolution of all boundaries in Pisces.
