What is human design?
Human Design combines astrology, I Ching, Kabbalah and the chakra system to create a unique system of self-knowledge. Find out what lies behind the Bodygraph.

Human Design is a system of self-discovery founded in 1987 by Ra Uru Hu. It combines elements from Western astrology, the Chinese I Ching, Jewish Kabbalah, the Hindu chakra system, and modern quantum physics into a unique synthesis. The result is a kind of “user manual” for your personal energy.
At its core lies a simple yet profound question: Am I living as I truly am—or as others expect me to?
The Bodygraph – Your Cosmic Map
A so-called Bodygraph (also known as a Rave Chart) is calculated based on your exact time, date, and place of birth. This graphical representation resembles a stylized human silhouette and contains geometric shapes—squares, triangles, and diamonds—that represent the nine energy centers.
Colored (defined) centers show where your energy flows steadily and reliably. White (open) centers indicate areas where you absorb and amplify the energy of your surroundings. Running between them are channels and gates that describe further facets of your personality.
The Building Blocks of the System
Human Design works with several levels that together form a nuanced picture:
- The five types—Manifestor, Generator, Manifesting Generator, Projector, and Reflector—describe your fundamental energy mechanics.
- The nine centers – Similar to chakras, but expanded. They show where your energy is defined or open.
- Strategy and Authority – Your personal decision-making compass: How you make the right decisions for yourself.
- The 12 profiles – They describe your role in life and the way you interact with the world.
Human design as a tool Human design does not provide rigid definitions, but a field for experimentation. It is not about following a template, but about recognizing your own nature and experimenting with it in everyday life. The invitation is to try it out and observe what changes when you trust your inner mechanics.
